Yes, the weather station and
WeatherCam are nice to find out, from your work desk, what is happening on the
Base weather-wise. It’s time to start
checking from your home before you head in here. And, this particular time of the season, is a
particularly good time to watch the pavement and bridge temperatures shown in
the first table on the left hand side of the weather station page. If you see temperatures are below freezing
(32ºF) and the ground is wet, be on the lookout for ice. You may not see snow and you might not know
it is there otherwise but the combo of water and cold pavement/bridge surfaces is
a predictor that “black ice” conditions exist.

Time Capsule: The Newark AFB Bicentennial time capsule, dug
up in June, was made a permanent loan to The Works museum in

your captain to get your piece. The
pieces, as promised, are now in and are being distributed. The All-Base United Way Fundraiser met its
sales goal. Thank you to everyone
