ENCOURAGING SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CAREERS

Heath Middle School recently accepted a donation of three pieces of Port Authority-owned scientific equipment that had been used by Boeing technicians. The plans are for the 8^th grade science class to see demonstrations and experience use of the equipment in the classroom. The Port Authority began the Encouraging Science & Technology Careers program this year. Licking County schools are eligible for grants of the excess equipment for classroom use. COATC WELCOMES NCSL INTERNATIONAL

Tomorrow, October 16, Bionetics, hosts members of the National Conference of Standards Laboratories International for a workshop in the COATC Conference Center. It’s the second time this year that NCSLI has met at COATC in the remodeled conference facility. On Target has been told that Newark Air Force Base has had a long history with this organization dating back to the earliest days of the Base and of NCSL. GO TO: http://coatc.com

NAVIGATING GOVERNMENT--A SMALL BUSINESS PROCUREMENT INITIATIVE

On Target subscribers get a preview of the plans for a November 12 seminar with its intended audience being small businesses in Central Ohio who want to do business with the government and the defense industry. The free seminar is sponsored by a host of small business advocates, including the Port Authority and the Newark & Licking County Chamber. COATC tenants, Boeing, AFMETCAL, Bionetics, and BAE SYSTEMS, as well as the Defense Supply Center Columbus, make up those expected for an industry panel that is planned for part of the seminar.
