HEY, WHAT’S THAT CRANE DOING THERE?

Except for those people who never ventured outside all day, it was hard not to notice a large crane on the east side of Building 4 at COATC today. The crane hoisted equipment and materials on to the roof as preparation for the roof repair project getting underway. Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal was selected by the Port Authority for the $245,000 project after a public bid process in July. Kalkreuth has done several highly-visible roofing projects in Central Ohio, including the Too, Inc. headquarters building off of St Rt. 161 in New Albany and the COSI Science Center on the west bank of the Scioto River in Columbus. ENCOURAGING SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CAREERS

The Port Authority is ramping up a new program to put excess scientific equipment in the hands of future scientists. The Port Authority’s Encouraging Science & Technology Careers Program makes scientific equipment previously used by Boeing, Bionetics, Lockheed Martin, BAE SYSTEMS, and other COATC tenants available to schools in Licking County.
