          SMALL BUSINESS SEMINAR SET FOR NOVEMBER 12 IN HEATH
       Navigating Government Seminar Focuses on Defense Industry 
                      Procurement in Central Ohio

HEATH – “Navigating Government,” a seminar for small businesses 
in Central Ohio looking to do business with the government and 
defense contractors, has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 
12, 2003 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Central Ohio Aerospace and 
Technology Center (COATC) Conference Center, 781 Irving-Wick 
Drive West, in Heath.

The seminar offers opportunities to learn more about selling to 
the government from procurement experts, getting ready to sell 
from small business advisors, and understanding the industry 
perspective from procurement officials.  A special session 
detailing the federal HubZone program is planned.

The seminar is part of an effort by the Heath-Newark-Licking 
County Port Authority to encourage entrepreneurial development.  
It is sponsored by small business advocates in Central Ohio, 
including the Newark & Licking County Chamber of Commerce and 
the Small Business Development Center of Newark & Licking County.  
The agenda includes a panel of procurement officials from 
government and the defense industry in Ohio such as Boeing, 
Bionetics, AFMETCAL, BAE SYSTEMS, and Defense Supply Center 
Columbus.
