U.S. SENATOR VOINOVICH TO VISIT FORMER AIR FORCE BASE
Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center to Host Senatorial Visit Monday
HEATH, OHIO – United States Senator George Voinovich will visit the Central
Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center (COATC) in Heath at 1:30 p.m. on Monday,
October 21, 2002. Voinovich will be meet with business and government
officials as part of a briefing and tour of the facility where military
guidance and missile systems are repaired.
COATC was established on property of the former Newark Air Force Base which
was privatized in 1996. The Boeing Company is the largest tenant on the
350-acre campus that is owned and managed by the Heath-Newark-Licking County
Port Authority.
The senatorial visit will begin at the Western entrance to the Boeing building,
801 Irving Wick Drive, Heath.
