CONGRESSMAN NEY TO VISIT AEROSPACE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER
Tour and Briefing Part of Continued Port Authority Caucus-Building Strategy
HEATH, OHIO – U.S. Representative Bob Ney will visit the Central Ohio Aerospace
and Technology Center (COATC) in Heath on Friday, February 28, 2003. Ney will
be briefed by Boeing, AFMETCAL, Bionetics, and Port Authority officials as part
of a briefing and tour of the facility where military guidance and missile
systems are repaired.
At 11:45 a.m., a press availability will be held at the western side of the COATC
Conference Center (adjacent to Aramark’s Flightline Cafe).
COATC was established on property of the former Newark Air Force Base which was
privatized in 1996. As part of its economic development strategy, the Heath-
Newark-Licking County Port Authority has recently increased efforts to build
a caucus of informed supporters among key federal and state officials.
COATC is located in the 18th Congressional District, which Congressman Ney
represents in the United States House of Representatives. Ney, who was active
in helping to retain the base when it was privatized in 1996, will be updated on
recent developments at COATC and briefed by management personnel of the major
COATC tenants.
Additional background information on the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology
Center is available at coatc.com.
