Happy Anniversary COATC

The Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center celebrates its six-year anniversary on October 1.  It was on this date in 1996 when the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority took ownership of the former Newark AFB in an economic development conveyance that was the first Privatization-in-Place (PIP) in Air Force history.

Detours!

Visitors and personnel who frequent the Western entrance to COATC (the one by the railroad tracks) will face a detour beginning Monday, September 30. Signs will be posted.  Bridge repair work has begun with completion expected in mid to late October.  Keep up to date on the progress with a visit to the projects page of the COATC.com web site.

New Web Site a Work in Progress

The organization of the COATC.com web site reflects the vision of the Port Authority to expand its mission to include developing a 350-acre campus and taking a stronger role in helping the community grow.  The web site is a communication tool to keep COATC visitors and personnel informed, and a marketing tool to reach out to prospective new and expanding businesses.  Visitors are invited to offer a critical assessment of the new site.

Event@COATC: Car Wash & Cookout

AFMETCAL will be washing cars as part of a fundraiser for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFT) on October 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  They’ll also be serving bratwurst.  The rain dates are Oct. 3rd or 4th.  Consider making a donation.
