Former Congressman John Kasich and State Auditor Mary Taylor visited the Aerospace Center as part of their statewide bus tour. The visit included a tour of Bionetics' underground laboratories.

Kasich was quoted by the Heath News afterward as saying, "Bionetics is a metaphor for what I want to do as Governor. Fifteen years ago, things looked pretty bleak here in Licking County when the base was closed. But people got together, they got creative, and look at this fantastic facility today. Similarily, while things look bad in Ohio right now, . . .I know we can fix it."

The visit was at the invitation of the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority which invited both major party candidates for Governor and U.S. Senator to visit as part of its caucus-building strategy.
