State Treasurer Richard Cordray joined a reception and briefing with tenants from The Base and toured the South Campus property owned by the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority. His tour included an update on the Boeing Virtual Manufacturing Center announced to be built at the COATC in 2008.

Port Authority Director Rick Platt showed Cordray a state-owned parcel of land that the Port Authority considers a fit for his excess state properties program.

The Port Authority's hosting of Cordray's visit was part of its ongoing caucus-building strategy aimed at increasing knowledge among federal, state, and local officials about the value and impact of the COATC.
